Angular dependence of sampling MTF 0

چکیده
Sampling MiT defined in Park,' Hock,2 and de Luca,3 as an x and y sampling, can be generalized for image data not along x and y directions. For a given sampling lattice (such as in a laser printer, a scene projector, or a focal plane array), we construct a two-dimensional sampling MiT based on the distance between nearest samples in each direction. Because the intersample distance depends on direction, the sampling MiT will be best in the directions of highest spatial sampling, and poorer in the directions of sparse sampling. We compare hexagonal and rectangular lattices in terms of their equivalent spatial frequency bandwidth. We filter images as demonstration of the angular-dependent two-dimensional sampling MTF.

Angular dependence of sampling modulation transfer function.
Sampling modulation transfer function (MTF) as defined in Park et al. [Appl. Opt. 23, 2527-2582 (1984)] as an x and y sampling can be generalized for image data not along x and y directions. For a given sampling lattice (such as in a laser printer, a scene projector, or a focal-plane array), we construct a two-dimensional sampling MTF based on the distance between nearest samples in each direct...
متن کاملDynamic Contrast-Enhanced Digital Breast Tomosynthesis
PURPOSE The purpose of this work is to characterize the spatial dependence of the in-plane 35 modulation transfer function (MTF) in tomosynthesis and investigate the influence of the acquisition geometry. METHODS The in-plane MTF was calculated from measured edge spread functions using a custom 40 test tool consisting of a 0.250 mm thick lead sheet affixed to a 5.88 mm acrylic sheet. Images wer...
متن کاملSpeeding up the FMMR perfect sampling algorithm: A case study revisited
In a previous paper by the second author, two Markov chain Monte Carlo perfect sampling algorithms—one called coupling from the past (CFTP) and the other (FMMR) based on rejection sampling—are compared using as a case study the move-to-front (MTF) self-organizing list chain. Here we revisit that case study and, in particular, exploit the dependence of FMMR on the user-chosen initial state. We g...
متن کاملDiagnostics for Digital Capture Using MTF
The modulation transfer function (MTF) has long been used as a diagnostic tool for analog image capture, by tracking frequency response caused by aperture, field position, or defocus optical phenomena. For digital capture, these factors still exist, in addition to a host of others introduced by detector motion, sampling, and image processing. Many of these problems can be identified via their M...
متن کاملLow-Frequency MTF Estimation for Digital Imaging Devices Using Slanted Edge Analysis
Modulation transfer function (MTF) metrology and interpretation for digital image capture devices has usually concentrated on midto high-frequency information, relative to the half-sampling frequency. These regions typically quantify characteristics and operations such as sharpening, limiting resolution, and aliasing. However, a potential wealth of low-frequency, visually significant informatio...
